Fat injections and fat graphs have gained popularity lately. They involve the process of removing fat from one part of the body and injecting it into another. The patient’s own fat is used to “plump” certain parts of the body such as the face. This procedure is less invasive than actual implants and recovery is much less. Local anesthesia can be used in this outpatient procedure. Fat transfer may take more than one session to completely correct the defect but the correction should be long lasting and not resorb like fillers do.
